Sanctuaries across the country are facing financial difficulties as the cost of care for animals increases and donations decline.
Sanctuaries provide a safe haven for animals that have been abandoned, rescued from hoarding situations, or saved from the meat or dairy industry. However, the rising cost of hay, food, and veterinary care is putting a strain on their budgets.
At the same time, charitable giving is down, making it even harder for sanctuaries to make ends meet.
This combination of factors is threatening the future of many sanctuaries. Some are at risk of closing, while others are struggling to provide the same level of care for their animals.
Sanctuaries are asking for the public's help to stay afloat. Donations of any amount are welcome, and many sanctuaries offer sponsorship opportunities that allow donors to connect with specific animals.
People can also help by volunteering their time or donating items such as food, bedding, and cleaning supplies.
Sanctuaries play an important role in providing care for animals in need. By supporting these organizations, we can help ensure that they continue to provide a haven for animals in need.
