Taste NY Expands at 2025 Great New York State Fair

By Blake Jackson

The Taste NY program is preparing for another exciting season at The Great New York State Fair, bringing an expanded lineup of locally produced food and beverages to the Horticulture Building.

This year, the New York State Tasting Yard has been relocated to the Horticulture Building, where it now operates alongside the Taste NY Pop-Up Market and Marketplace, giving fairgoers a one-stop destination to explore their favourite New York products.

“I’m excited to see our Taste NY program continue to grow and expand its presence at The New York State Fair, providing a unique platform for our New York farmers and food and beverage producers to introduce their homegrown products to thousands of new consumers," State Agriculture Commissioner Richard Ball said.

"I encourage everyone to stop by the Horticulture Building to learn more about New York’s food and agriculture industries and buy some delicious local products to take home with them.”

“The Great New York State Fair is about showcasing all there is to love about New York – and of course, that includes the food," Fair Director Julie LaFave.

"The Taste NY Pop-Up Market, Marketplace, and Tasting Yard are fairgoer favorites for good reason, and I’m excited that this year our visitors will be able to discover so many locally made food, beverages, and locally made products all in one place.”

Now located near the Maple Booth, the Tasting Yard features a rustic taproom-style bar where 13 businesses will rotate to showcase New York beer, cider, wine, mead, and spirits.

Among them are Breezy Hill Orchard, Brooklyn Cider House, Do Good Spirits, Lakewood Vineyards, and Good Nature Brewing. The area also includes a new mural titled Sip the State by artist Caroline Corrigan and an indoor green space with Adirondack chairs for relaxation.

Taste NY Pop-Up Market and Marketplace

The Pop-Up Market will feature over 290 products from 85 vendors, ranging from cheeses and chocolates to sauces, teas, and coffee. Operated by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County, it allows visitors to sample and shop across all 10 regions of the state.

Meanwhile, the Marketplace will highlight more than 40 producers, with up to 12 rotating daily, offering everything from baked goods and fudge to soaps, candles, hot sauces, and wine.
