The spirit of autumn will be alive in Warrensburg as the community gathers for the 12th Annual Apple Festival, part of the Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers’ Market.
The celebration takes place on Friday, September 12, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Recreation Field Pavilion on Library Avenue. The event is organized by Warrensburgh Beautification Inc. and promises an afternoon filled with local flavors, handmade goods, family fun, and the unmistakable taste of fall.
Festivalgoers will be treated to a variety of locally grown apples, including Saratoga Apple’s organically raised fruit, along with their sweet and hard ciders and ever-popular cider donuts. Juniper Hill Farm will also be on hand with freshly harvested organic produce.
Master Gardeners from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Warren County will share apple-growing information, recipes, and tasting plates, complemented by freshly brewed coffee for guests to enjoy.
The Apple Festival also features Adirondack Artisans, with handcrafted jewelry, pottery, home décor, and more from local makers such as ADK Creations, Mountain Pottery, Skyward Garden Art, and several others.
Attendees can also browse goods from regional farms, bakeries, and beverage producers, including apple pies, breads, cheeses, maple chicken sausage, wine, and spirits infused with apple flavors.
Children can look forward to a variety of free apple-themed activities, from face painting and take-home crafts to pumpkin decorating, with pumpkins donated by Bull Hill Farm.
Demonstrations on apple cider making will showcase traditional techniques, while organizations such as NY State of Health and Warrensburg Central School PTSA will provide information and giveaways.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, live music by George Parrott will keep the crowd entertained, and attendees will have the chance to win $20 in Farmers’ Market Bucks to spend with vendors.
With its wide selection of local produce, artisan creations, and family-friendly fun, the Apple Festival continues to highlight the strong community spirit and agricultural traditions of Warrensburg.
