The New York Farm to School Summit will convene farmers, food producers, school food service directors, educators, administrators, and other Farm to School partners for a three-day event focused on strengthening local food connections.
The summit will take place from February 23 through February 25, running daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST, with registration set at $200.
Co-hosted by the New York State Education Department and Cornell Cooperative Extension Harvest NY, the summit is designed to support Farm to School stakeholders at every stage of experience.
The agenda includes interactive workshops, expert-led panel discussions, informative presentations, and optional field trips that highlight successful Farm to School practices across the state. Sessions will address program development, sourcing local foods, nutrition education, and building sustainable school food systems.
A key highlight of the event is the Day 2 trade show, which focuses on fostering New York-based business-to-business relationships. The trade show will exclusively feature producers of New York-grown and processed products, giving School Food Authorities and other institutions the opportunity to sample items and explore purchasing options.
In addition, support service organizations will be on site to share resources that help expand and strengthen Farm to School programs statewide.
