Entomology professor Dr. Christian Krupke from Purdue University will be presenting his research on pest management in corn and soybeans at the New York State Integrated Pest Management (IPM) academic seminar series. Dr. Krupke has extensive experience in this field, having led research and extension programs at Purdue since 2005.
His presentation will focus on two key areas:
- The impact of refuge construction for resistance management in Bt corn hybrids: This research examines how planting specific areas without Bt corn can help prevent the development of resistance in pests.
- The costs and benefits of neonicotinoid seed treatments: Dr. Krupke will explore the economic and environmental implications of using these seed treatments on both corn and soybeans.
This seminar, taking place on March 27th, 2024, from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm at 135 Emerson Hall, aims to raise awareness of advancements in IPM and encourage its adoption across various pest management settings. Click here to register.
