Curaleaf makes waves in New York cannabis market

By Blake Jackson

Curaleaf Holdings, Inc. has officially entered the New York cannabis market, receiving approval from the New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM). This marks a significant milestone for the company, expanding its reach to one of the largest and most lucrative cannabis markets in the United States.

Initially, Curaleaf will offer five premium flower, vape, and edible products from its Grassroots and Select brand portfolios. These include Select Briq Essentials, Select X Bites, Select Nano Bites, and Grassroots premium flower.

To further establish its presence in New York, Curaleaf plans to develop new products featuring locally-grown flower and distillate from Open Mind Organics (OMO), a New York-based hemp farm. This initiative demonstrates the company's commitment to supporting local businesses and fostering a sustainable cannabis ecosystem in the state.

"We are excited to bring our high-quality cannabis products and service to the New York adult-use market," said Matt Darin, CEO of Curaleaf. "We are pleased to be among the first to participate in this emerging market, and we look forward to serving both medical and recreational customers throughout the state."

Curaleaf's partnership with MJ Dispensary, a Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary (CAURD) licensee, marks another significant step for the company. MJ Dispensary became the first licensed New York adult-use retail partner to offer Curaleaf products, highlighting the potential for collaboration between large businesses and CAURD licensees in the New York market.

Beyond simply expanding its business, Curaleaf is committed to giving back to the communities it serves. Through its "Rooted in Good" program, the company works with organizations addressing the challenges caused by the "War on Drugs." Additionally, Curaleaf has pledged to hire at least 10% of all new New York employees from populations impacted by low-level cannabis offenses. This demonstrates the company's dedication to social justice and equity within the cannabis industry.

With its focus on high-quality products, local partnerships, and social responsibility, Curaleaf is poised to become a leading player in the New York cannabis market. Its entry marks a new chapter for the company and the industry as a whole, paving the way for further growth and innovation in this exciting new market.
