The Great New York State Fair has announced the addition of The Elders, a seasoned Celtic-rock band, to its 2024 Chevrolet Music Series lineup. The six-member group will make their Fair debut with a performance on the Chevy Court Stage at 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 25th.
The Elders boast a long and impressive career. With 24 years of experience, an Emmy Award-winning DVD, and a Kansas Music Hall of Fame induction, they're known for their timeless sound, beautiful harmonies, and powerful lyrics. Their latest album, "Well Alright Then," released in April 2022, is a tribute to their late guitarist, Steve Phillips.
"We are thrilled to welcome The Elders to the Fair for the first time," said Interim Fair Director Julie LaFave. "Their music tells stories of love, loyalty, and the strong Irish spirit. They're a perfect addition to our lineup, and we can't wait for everyone to enjoy them!"
The Fair runs from Wednesday, August 21st, to Labor Day, September 2nd. All concerts are included with Fair admission, which goes on sale later this summer. The Great New York State Fair is known for being the most affordable state fair in the country.
In total, the Fair's Chevrolet Music Series will feature 39 national acts. There will be daily concerts at 1 pm and 6 pm on the Chevy Court Stage and an 8 pm concert at the Suburban Park Stage. A complete list of announced concerts is available on the Fair's website.
The Fair offers free admission for children under 12 and adults over 65. General admission tickets will go on sale later this year.
Founded in 1841, the Great New York State Fair is the oldest continuously running fair in the United States. It showcases the best of New York agriculture, provides top-notch entertainment, and is a key part of the state's CNY Rising economic development strategy.
