Farmers and growers interested in leafy greens production can join Cornell Cooperative Extension for a day-long intensive on February 4, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at The Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home, located at 4079 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, NY.
This intensive will provide valuable insights for both summer and winter growing and will feature expert presentations and grower discussions on best practices.
The event will cover a range of important topics, including soil steaming, pest management, spinach variety trials, heat-tolerant varieties, and more. Participants will gain knowledge from experienced growers and Extension experts.
The agenda includes interactive sessions such as an IPM rotation, active learning stations on favorite crop varieties, and climate considerations impacting growing practices.
The cost is $30 for pre-registration by February 3 at 5:00 p.m. After that date, the fee increases to $50 at the door. Lunch is included in the registration fee.

- 10:00-11:00 a.m. - Soil steaming session
- 11:00-12:00 p.m. - IPM rotation stations
- 12:30-12:45 p.m. - Active learning stations
- 1:45-2:45 p.m. - Climate-related rotation stations
