USDA Opens Applications for Mexico Trade Mission this November

USDA Opens Applications for Mexico Trade Mission this November

By Jamie Martin

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now accepting applications for its next agribusiness trade mission to Mexico City, set for November 3–6, 2025. The mission aims to give U.S. agricultural businesses a direct link to buyers in Mexico’s fast-growing market. The deadline to apply is July 31, 2025.

In 2024, Mexico became the largest buyer of U.S. farm products, purchasing over $30 billion worth of goods. These sales helped support about 190,000 jobs in the United States. With strong trade ties under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), agricultural trade between the two countries reached nearly $79 billion last year.

USDA is also working to protect animal health. Secretary Brooke Rollins launched a plan to fight the New World Screwworm, strengthening border defenses and building a sterile fly facility in South Texas to stop any future spread.

Rising incomes and a growing taste for U.S. products in Mexico drive strong export growth. Since 2020, U.S. exports of consumer goods like beef, poultry, dairy, seafood, tree nuts, and baking ingredients have increased by over 75%. Other important products include animal feed, rice, pulses, seed potatoes, and livestock genetics.

During the trade mission, American businesses will meet buyers, attend market briefings, visit key sites, and connect with experts. This event is part of USDA’s broader effort to expand agricultural exports, following successful trade missions to nations like Thailand, Guatemala, Hong Kong, and Peru.

USDA invites interested exporters to apply and take advantage of this valuable opportunity to grow their business in Mexico.
