New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced over $15 million in funding for 19 projects across the state through the Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) initiative. This round aims to stimulate growth in technology, business redevelopment, manufacturing, and transportation.
Highlights include:
- Energy Catalyst, LLC (Capital Region): $850,000 to build a new facility for manufacturing heat pumps, creating jobs and advancing clean energy solutions.
- PPC Broadband, Inc. (Central New York): $1.2 million to expand operations and manufacture equipment for broadband deployment, improving internet access in underserved areas.
- Cornell Agriculture and Food Technology Park Corporation (Finger Lakes): $1.4 million to construct a light manufacturing facility, attracting new businesses and fostering innovation in the agriculture and food technology sector.
- JCTOD Outreach Inc. (Mohawk Valley): $500,000 to complete a community center offering vital services like childcare, job training, and food assistance, empowering residents in Utica.
- Buffalo Business Park, Inc. (Western New York): $150,000 to renovate a building into a mixed-use development with residential and commercial spaces, revitalizing Dunkirk's downtown.
"These investments unlock the economic potential of our state, supporting cutting-edge industries and strengthening communities," Governor Hochul said.
This funding reflects the REDC's commitment to fostering diverse economic growth across New York. Applications for Empire State Development grants remain open, offering ongoing opportunities for projects that align with the initiative's goals.
