As the clock ticks down to election day, the urgency to act becomes more critical, especially given the considerable economic strains on farmers nationwide.
This fall, NCGA, in partnership with various agricultural groups, is orchestrating a coordinated effort to bring farmers directly into congressional offices.
The goal is clear: communicate the pressing need to pass a robust farm bill that addresses the immediate and long-term needs of the farming community.
As part of this initiative, NCGA is also rolling out a targeted advertising campaign in the Washington, D.C. area.
These advertisements, placed strategically online, at key transit hubs, and during prime news broadcasts, aim to highlight the critical role of corn growers and the broader agricultural sector in bolstering the U.S. economy.
The timing of these efforts is strategic, leveraging the last legislative session before the elections as a crucial window to influence policy.
This is seen as the last feasible opportunity to advocate effectively before a potential shift in the political landscape and the introduction of new priorities in Congress come January.
NCGA is focusing on in-person lobbying and also empowering their network through digital advocacy. Farmers and agricultural advocates who cannot make it to Washington are being encouraged to engage digitally.
They are urged to contact their senators and representatives to press for the passage of the farm bill, amplifying their voices through a simple yet effective call-to-action: texting COB to 52886 to join NCGA's action alerts.
This multi-pronged approach underscores a critical moment for U.S. agriculture.
